I'm pretty positive that the problem lies in the design of the bass hoop, because I've gigged twice in 2 different areas & I can kick up singles at 155bpm without a problem. I can only do singles at 130bpm at home. I've tried adding some small but bundled pieces of paper in the declined area but they dont seem to work. Is there a way to rectify this problem instead of getting a new bass hoop? |

I gotta be honest, 20 years ago, I remember this being something I recognized about the Pearl Export series...and thus bought a Tama Swingstar instead. I haven't such as seen or dealt with Pearl hoops and didn't reaalize they were still like that, but always wondered why their bass hoop design was like that.

I've gigged with a Pearl EX couple of months ago & I face no such problem. The bass hoop has a recess but it's only at the centre of it, which doesn't decline all the way to the bass head, which also wasn't too deep a recess.
My pedals feel really, realllllyyy light during the gig. It's so light that I find it a little hard to control. |
