Default New to drumming

Hello everyone. My name is Gene Poremba. I'm new to drumming at 57 yrs of age! Its something I allways wanted to do, but life allways got in the way. My wife bought me a Crush drum kit as a combined birthday & Christmas gift. I am totally consumed with drumming now that I have a kit to learn on. My instructor was kind enough to help me set up my kit & get started. Heres a pic of me & my Crush Eminent birch kit....Gene

Hello and welcome to the forum! You're in good company, there are plenty of latecomers here. Don't be afraid to join in.

What a lovely wife you have! I must admit I have Sparkly Kit envy, looking at your photo.

Gene welcome and you've come to the right place. This is a great supportive community and this site is an encyclopedia of drumming for the novice. I always feel like a newcomer here (and I've been fooling around on drums since a wee tike-and I'm 59) because I learn something new and all the videos are a great resource to see what a drummer is doing rather than just hear. It is a roller coaster ride of great days you feel like Buddy Rich and others you swear to sale your drums-but like a roller coaster it is great fun-enjoy the "ride". Get it-"ride" hee, hee, hee. You'll be grooving along before you know it.

Welcome to the community and to drumming. You've done well to get started with a good quality set and with an instructor. Have a lot of fun and enjoy!
