pearl vision

evans g2 clear=batter
evans genera resonant = reson

i just dont like the overtone on my 10x8 what i can do to cut a little bit this ????

Does g1 on the reson could be a better choice to cut some overtone, all the head are brand new

The G1 is actually a little more open according to the Evans head chart on their website, although just BARELY. But, it's warmer so you should hear a difference in the overtones with this head. If anything, put a small square of moongel on the batter head to help with the overtones.

I think the G1 would tone it down a little also play around with the tuning if you haven't you'll be surprised what a little tighter and looser will do for overtones.

I had Genera Resonant heads for a long time. I was always disappointed at the sound I would get from my drums. Then I changed them all to Remo Clear Ambassadors and there was a big difference. Genera Resonant heads are designed to give a bright sound with lots of projection (basically brighter tones). If you want to get rid of these try something like a g1 clear/ambassador.

Yeah it's the frequecy the 10 produces, you might try adjusting the tone down just a little or tighten your snares some, may need to play with the tuning on the snare side head as well to try and eliminate it though you will never completely get rid of it. I doubt anyone 10 ft from you will here it though.

The 10" tom will cause the snares to buzz like crazy if both drums are tuned to sympathetic pitches. I'd tune the tom to sound good with the rest of the toms, then putz around with the snare until it doesn't buzz so much. One trick is to tune the snare drum as you normally would, then de-tune one of the four lugs around the snare. Good luck!
