Default Aluminum Finishing

I have just opened my new anodizing factory in NJ. It is a 22,000 sf, ISO 9001 registered facility that processes aluminum for the aerospace and electronics industries. It is state- of -the -art, from PLC automated processes to spectrophotometric color analyses.

I would be glad to help any of the members here if they have any aluminum parts that need finishing. I don't want to make money off of it (and I won't). I just like to help out a fellow drummer.

Builders, take note.

BTW, The name of the place is Master Metal Finishers.

Congratulations on your venture. I work in an aluminum extrusion plant, where we anodize and do wet paint. A few questions..

What kind of finishes do you offer?

How long are your tanks? I am asking this because we get a lot of job shop work that we don't necessarily want and would love to find another anodizer interested in this kind of business. We are set up for large production runs.

Our core business is architectural shapes and curtain walls for high rise buildings, schools, strip malls, etc.

We mostly deal with 6063 alloy. We also do 6005 and 6061 but it always looks pretty dull when we anodize it so we paint it or ship it in mill finish.

Do you anodize other metals besides aluminum? I couldn't imagine putting any of my drum hardware through our anodizing line, because it set up for aluminum only. Our sister plant does brite dip, nickel and gold finishes. That would be something I would like to have done on my hardware.

Interesting, I also would like to know what kind of finishing you can offer.
I am a machinist, and make my own lugs for snares, and also made aluminum lugs already, that I powdercoated.
Would love to know about some other alternatives.

Jeff, you're truly a saint among men. I am probably going to be using aluminum lugs when I build my kit (whenever that will be), so I'll be sure to hit you up when I get them.
