Yes, my kit came with them, and I must say I liked them,..I ordered more, but i must have got a bad batch, as the 13 snare snapped in half using brushes!, and the finish wore off really fast,..but the sound I liked. I may try them again.

My Brady came with one and it sounded pretty good. I ended up putting a coated Ambassador on that drum. I now have it on my keller-shelled DW 10&6 drum and it sounds really good. My Brady has a wide open sound and I was looking for a slightly drier sound for the DW and the DeJohnette fit that. It looks pretty cool also.

I'm using them right now and LOVING them! They've got a great vintage jazz sound, and look killer. Their only downside is that they're a bit pricey, but the coating has lasted me 2 months now, and they haven't lost their initially great sound, so I suppose you get what you pay for.

Using one on a Gretsch snare after having used a standard Texture Coated. It mellows it out just a touch more and gives it such a wonderfully rich sound; that drum really sounds like the snare Art Blakey used on Moanin'. Great head, I absolutely love it.
