Default Head selection for Pacific FS Birch drums

I recently purchased a new Pacific FS birch kit and would like some opinions on the best head combo's to maximize the birch shell potential. I have never owned a birch kit. I was thinking of using single ply heads to increase the resonance a bit but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Chuck

Can't go wrong with coated ambassadors on a birch kit.

chuck a PowerStroke 3 on the kick and as stated before, some coated ambassadors all round and that kit should sing wonderfully

The best combo I've had so far on those drums is coated G1s over clear G1s on the toms, a Power centre reverse dot over hazy 300 on the snare and an Emad with the stock reso ported with a 4" hole. Not entirely happy with the Emad, think I'll go to an EQ4 next on the kick.

my starclassic (birch) is absolutely ideal with G2 clears over G1 clears. It just works so well on that kit and seems to really compliment the wood. I also have the same set-up on my DW maple, however it does not sound as good as the birch does. If you are open to clear heads, this would definitely be my suggestion. I have also tried clear emps over clear ambs and have achieved equally great results.

EDIT: oh and I always run superkick 1's on the batter of the kick. They are incredible.
