Basically a marching bass drum. You could probably slip into a used one off eBay for under $100, however, the flip side of the coin is there is hardly any resale value. I bought a used Yamaha marcher and converted it to a kick (28x14). Landed the whole thing (cost + shipping) for $77. That was a few years ago, when I sold it, shipping prices (gas) had gone thru the roof, so I striped it and sold just the hardware. The shell, heads and hoops I gave away. Can't say it's gonna be very "quick", however. It's gonna behave more like a 28 than a 22. But if a different look is what you're after, a different look is what you're gonna get. Nothing wrong with that. Ordering a new one would cost a lot and you'd probably never get your money back out of it if you ever sold it.

If you get one and don't like the tone of it played alone you can always make a woofer out of it. Billy Ward typically uses a 20" bass drum with a 28" woofer in front of it.
