Man you must believe in the ole philosophy of "Keep it simple, stupid!" Just kiddin. You do need to evolve at least two more limbs on your back. Hee, hee. That is an awesome kit and I too use different heads on my toms. You have done well my friend. How long did it take you to build it up or did you do it all at once?

Excuse me while I pick up my jaw off the ground. Holy... would it be too much as to ask how much a set like that costs? Just a ballpark answer is all I'm lookin' for.

I am not a fan of big kits at all usually, as they are so cluttered BUT yours is set up very cleanly. It's almost inviting....

I actually built half of it two years before I built the other half of it. Once I had everything in place. It probably just took me a couple of weeks. The thing that takes the longest was driving down to the wood store.

I still think that the Gong Bass drum riding over the floor toms would be ergonomic and would make it playable when facing front.
Now you may not want to do that, but once you double bass and throw the Gong into the pitch of the floor toms with the sticks,

Well lets just say that you will never "look back again"
LOL

I tried it mounted over concert toms on the left, behind me as you did, and over the floor toms as Neil Peart, Dennis Chambers and many do where it is playable from the front.....now that smacks you in the face in that position. Once you double bass and play a third with your hands off of floor toms, well the African Stuff you can get is just sick....If you like Independance Work and deep tones its a real kick in the face.

Going on 9 months since sound clips were promised.
I'm beginning to think that kit is a photo shop creation. : ^ )

I know I know I know, I have been neglecting to send you clips but my bud in Hollywood is currently mixing one of the first songs we are working on. I will be sure to send you a link to it as soon as he is done mixing. But for now you can actually check out some of the unmixed stuff at www.myspace.com/siro

You're smacking them pretty hard. If I could give a little constructive criticism... I would recommend playing to a click. You sound like you're developing some good drum parts but the tempo fluctuates quite a bit.

Thanks for sending the link.

Thanks man. I am actually in the market for some more cymbals. I think I need two more huge chinas, two gongs, and maybe a 15" crash and a 14" crash.

that's gotta be tough to get from your lowest rack tom to your floor tom comfortably. ever think about lifting your floor toms a bit to get a little better flow around the toms?

your singer sounds like amy lee.

That's some pretty bitchin' drumming going on there. The band as a whole sounds a bit like a cross between mcqueen and motorhead.

Yeah, I used to think about lifting the floors a little, but I really like the long hard swing down on to them. It makes me feel like I hit them all that much harder. I actually try to get them to go as low as they go. Check out some of the other pics here. www.myspace.com/siro

She is a little more aggressive than Amy Lee. She screams more. You will have to hear the rest of the songs we are working on. Thanks for the Motorhead compliment. Motorhead rocks. I actually listen to a lot of Rush and Fear Factory. I try refer to a lot of those two bands with a touch of Zeppelin to top it off.

Crazy stuff. Needs crazy playing too to rotate almost 360 degrees to play them all. Can't imagine how hard to set them up.
