Default Bass drum heads

Hi I just bought an 18 inch coated ambassador for my bass drum batter. I noticed that it did not say "Ambassador Bass" it just said, "Coated Ambassador". Is there a difference between a regular ambassador and an ambassador bass drum head?

I think they stopped doing seperate printed designations a while ago.

Probably saves a lot of time in printing the heads with just one pad stamp or screen (however they print their heads) instead of changing stuff out.

My bass drum head(s) (26") don't say "bass drum" either, and one is a few years old now.

Ambassadors are sweet drum heads.

No there isn't and in fact, I think most designated bass heads like the EMAD and what not don't say bass either. I think the reason is because drummers will use heads on other drums than what the head may have been designed for. I use a Power Center Reverse Dot head which is listed as a snare head, but I use it on my 14" floor.

Ok I'm an idiot...
Mine do say Bass, but it says Coated Ambassador Bass.

I'm pretty sure they used to have "Bass Drum" as the second line.

It is different than it was some years ago.

Probably since they added that little spik-y circle thing, which is supposed to signify a better flexing film or something like that.

The logos on Remo heads are all way bigger now, like they started to do with endorser heads, so everyone on watching TV could see the colossal Remo logo.

I've sort of gotten used to the new Remo logo, but having huge logos on heads really kinda bugs me.
Evans logo is too big IMO too.

I'm a Graphic Designer, so I guess I notice that stuff.
Some cymbal logos could be a little smaller too.
