Default BROKEN boohoo - fixed and replaced woohoo

last weekend i left my gear in my freezing car and the hardware bag fell onto my ironcobra. i only discovered the damage 15 minutes before my saturday gig! i duct taped it and it held.
first pic: here is where it snapped ... ouch.

second pic: fixed with metal glue and some duct tape. should work as an emergency pedal.

third: the replacement chrome. i replaced the p900 chain glide with the rolling guide of my old pedal as i prefer the feel.

Wow - how much the chrome one set you back?

I got a quote of two hundred from GAK when they came out - you get a better deal?

Meh, you deserved a new pedal anyway :)

You don't put your pedal into your hardware bag? Also, I thought that IC's came with hardshelled cases? I'm just thinking that the damage could have been avoided.

Well if it's like my chrome IC it'll just sit in the case so the pitting should be at a minimum hehe. And this also goes to show ya using the case they come with is a must. And if it didn't come with one make one.

yeah, my bad. i stopped using the case and just put the pedal for years staight into my hardware bag with stuff packed carefully around it. learned my lesson though. now the chrome one stays in the casewhen unplayed.

i would love to know just how much duct tape/gaffer tape i've used over time. there was a time when a friend of mine was working for an audio visual company and he gave me about ten rolls of the stuff. i used to tape my kit down rather than bring a rug. i think i could cover a tennis court with the amount of tape i've used by now.

Tonight I set up a pit ensembles' sound system at college, it took five hours including a basic line check.

Probably roughly a football pitches' worth of tape on that one, or so it felt, in reality much less but still... Absolutely insane.

A couple of weeks ago at college we broke into this guys room and taped everything to the ceiling; matress, chair, etc. That was a lot of tape, about 5 rolls of 50m x 50mm tape.
Basically ripped all the plaster of his ceiling getting it down, but hey, it was funny. (there were also lamb hearts and fish involved in what we did, but I won't go into that).
At the end of the day we used maybe 12.5 square metres of tape.
I want to get my hands on some of that "200mph tape" that they use on the V8 Supercars when body panels are falling off. Thats real mans duct tape.

sounds great.

lol, you've just reminded me of my college days. we drybricked a guy in his room one night. shaving cream, toothpaste and a very VERY old toilet brush were also involved but I also won't go into that.

Nutha just reminded me of a duct tape college story.

Our whole floor stayed up and filmed us all duct-taping a mattress over the entire doorway of our friend Stokes' room. We used 5 rolls. We all knew he got up PRECISELY at 7:35am to get ready for some lame class, so at 7:34 we were all outside - quiet as possible - on the verge of tearing up. 7:35 - he opens the door: "Very funny"

We all burst out laughing and then hear "If you guys don't take this down now, I'm calling the RA and you're all in trouble" (Let's say "friend" is stretching it. We "put up with" Stokes on the floor...Very much a nerd who thought he was the coolest thing since sliced bread, but couldn't take a joke on him)

No one budges, calling his bluff (he wouldn't get us in trouble, and even if he did, the RA's LOVED us. We won "best floor" 2 years in a row. We were adorable) and he says "That's it!"

What happened next is Stokes charging at the mattress, to plow through and "win" the standoff - but all we saw was the mattress flex a little bit, and then a huge crash - which was Stokes bouncing off the mattress and flying 6-7 ft backwards and knocking over his desk. I had never laughed so hard in my life (could have been the sleep deprivation...everything's funny when you're exhausted...but then we watched the video a 100 times and it was funny every time: "Hey have you seen the Stokes Mattress video? Check this out!"

Thank you, Duct Tape.

hahaha... great story. colleges are the same all over.

we wedged 6 of our own matresses (perfectly 2 inches shy of the width of the corridore) against a mate's door when he scored one night and then went off to college. he and his date had to climb out of a first floor window to get to lectures.

did you ever partially fill a large black rubbish bin and gently lean it on the outside of a door? they open it in the morning and whoosh.
