Hey, we have the same kit! (The maple)

Hope you're happy with it, I know I am!
How do you like the oak compared to the maple?

Thanks for the replies folks.

Cymbal specs:

- Masterwork Custom 13" hats
- Masterwork Pera 17" crash (twice)
- Masterwork Pera 20" ride
- Sabian AAX China 20"
- Sabian HHX Power hats 14"

I use the Yamaha Maple Custom for practice/recordings, and the Oak for gigs. Primarily because the Oak is much louder, has more treble and just sounds beautiful with some coated ambassadors on it - also when tuned high they're great for jazz. On the Maple I mostly use 2-ply heads such as emperors or G2's. In combination with the sound of maple drums it produces a very warm and focused tone which sounds great as well.
