Default Out with the old...and in with the new.

Sold my 15" Paiste 2002 black logo hats on eBay. Replaced them with some 15" Istanbul Turks, from the Cymbal Cellar.

Very nice, gotta love Turks. 15" is a great size as well. I don't think I'd ever go back to anything smaller.

Aydee - I've played a quite of few Turk Hand Hammered cymbals and I'd say they have a darker, warmer, more earthy tone.

Thanks, Rob, yes, I'd like to try them with my band , though I'm happy with my 13" Acustoms at the moment. I also have a set of Brazilian Orions which come closer to the hand hammered sound. But there must be something about those Turks that so many of you are going gaga over : )

Wonderful hats. Very expressive, and perhaps a bit more versatile than the 2002's

Todd at Cymbal Cellar rocks.

I'd say yes. Just the fact that they're made the "old school" way in Turkey gives (for me) an almost spiritual vibe.
