Mendozart: I'm not dogging anyone... I'm suggesting they think outside of the big names and quit thinking that because a name is popular it must be the best out there. =) DW and Brady make great stuff.. but they're not the authority on drum building that some people think they are. People should know they have very VERY good options.

You're both right; resale value will tend to be better for a product that carries a sort-after brand, and there are some seriously good products out there too that are relatively unknown which are every bit as good (and sometimes better).

The snare I'm about to order (14x6.5" Jarrah stave, practically the same drum as HPs Brady) is from a small and basically unknown builder and from what I've seen his stuff is every bit as good as Brady's, just it comes with "Metro" on the badge instead of "Brady".

Heh, I didn't start anything, he criticized both of my latest videos, and yet he has nothing to show of himself. I can take constructive criticism, but when he said in my Me and My Ludwigs thread, "I don't like your Ludwigs, the band or the song", is not very constructive.

Didn't he say something along the lines of "I like the bass player"?

Yes he did, and we should all applaud him for being such a great guy, I'm quite sure he's never had that happen.

Seems weird, right? Time for a new car, need to put down 5K. I really don't think they will actually sell, but if they do, I am putting in a custom order THAT DAY to DW for another to be built.

Thanks for all your comments! Drummerworld is a fantastic resource.

So I see the Brady sold. I would have loved to buy it but funds are low.
