Default Snares I Still Want!

Still learning about drums and snares. This brings about you wanting things you never knew exisited before
:D

I like rare wood and solid shells, those combinations are to die for IMO

I have to say that I would really like a Craviotto Timeless Timber maple or birch which is 700 year old wood which was under water in Lake Superior for 100 years or more.
Strativarius used only wood soaked for years in cold water....

the one in the middle is the Timeless Timber Maple owned by a member of PDF, DaveB. 24Karat Gold
"Steve Maxwell collection, Ltd edition 1 of 25"

Timeless Timber Craviotto Birch, I would like a deeper shell myself.

Canopus Solid Zelkova which Veejay and another member pointed out to me. This one as well owned by a member of PDF Ironcobra8

Block Shell Kauri Wood from New Zeland bog, 50,000 years old

50,000 Year old Kauri Wood, same owner as the TT Craviotto from PDF, its a solid too.

man, if I owned any one of these, I'd put them in a glass case and mount them on my den wall, and look at them every morning

I would'nt have the guts to touch them with a stick!!!!!

wow, starting at the top? those are all amazing drums.

There are a lot of great snares out there that wont require you to take a second mortgage out on your house ;-)

about $1000 for base minimum price. $1200 to $1500 maybe on a good day.

I'd love to see pictures of snares in the 2,000 dollar range if they're out there. Anyone? I'm no proponent of judging a snare by the price tag but I am really curious to see what is out there and if it is worth anything remotely close to the asking price.

Nice stuff. How do you like it?
I am going to pass on the Timeless Timber for now.

I just got a Canopus Solid Zelkova on ebay. My snare buying days are done.

Congradulations on that snare. I was just looking at the thread with your kit. Nice equipment and cymbals. I love those snares. Impressive to have one solid piece of wood. Johnny is the man. His work and his name are as good as gold. Is it not nice to hear all the things your doing on a incredible snare?
My greatest thrill.
