Default MY new toys

Muahahahahahaha
I finally have something that YOU don't have

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN:IT&ih=011

Just ordered this a few minutes ago.

Owned.

EDIT

HERE THEY ARE!!!
The last ones are of a ride my teacher let me borrow, 1960's 19" Zildjian Crash/Ride... I don't really like it but it looked nice and vintage-ey.

Here's the video. The groove is awful but it's just about the sound.

Got a nice deal on those. The keyhole makes me cringe though. (Always use protection, kids.)

Hope you like 'em.

That keyhole looks bad but it won't effect the sound at all. I think I'll toss a little bit of electrical tape around that hole.

Ahh pasquini, don't do that(could cause it sound goofy) just make sure you have a sleeve on your hi-hat and you should be fine.

But other then that man great deal for $50.... throw some polish(unless you like em dirty and dry like me) on them and those will be back in the game.

Good deal, but what do you mean now you have something we don't have? Lots of us have New Beats...well I don't :)

How exactly do you keyhole a hi-hat? I hear people mentioning sleeves but I've never seen a sleeve for a hi-hat clutch.

Sweet, these will match your splash so that something does match. :P Looks like it'll be a real nice addition to the kit.

That's right, the first two pices on my kit that will ever match... odd, it's the end of an era (not that I'm getting rid of the Staggs, oh no)

You could install a grommet on the keyholed cymbal. If done right, it doesn't affect the sound at all and is a lot better than a bunch of tape.

*spitting on the dusty sandy floor* YIEEEEHAAAA!

Good deal man, good deal. I think this keyhole shouldn`t be a problem if you set it up right.
Let us know how you like it when you received em.
Nice!

Cool. Trivia: New Beats are the best selling HHs of all time. There's more than 2X as many New Beat HHs in the world than any other model or brand.

I own a pair... I think these are remarkably great sounding hi-hats. I knew nothing about cymbals when I bought mine, but spent a good hour or two trying out different sets before settling on these purely on how they sounded. I own another set of 13" hats that I use rarely, and have heard other hi-hats that I like, and would like to own as well. But I've heard nothing as consistently pleasing in all genres as the New Beats. I will always own a set of these, and judging by the apparent flood of them on the market I'l never have to worry about being able to find em' either.

Well dome Ian.

I am considering picking up a dirt cheap pair of K hats with keyholing - just for giggles....

I've had my new beats since 1985 and I still love em' congrats I bet the previous owner used the top hi-hat cymbal as a crash/splash on a cymbal stand with no sleeves.hopefully it doesn't. effect the sound too much but for $50 they should sound way better than a $100 pair of ZBT's LOL.Congrats again.

lol couldn't resist posting in here since I passed along the auction to good ole Pasquini here. He's lucky I have a wedding coming up and plenty of my own cymbals or I'd have snagged them myself. Keyholing isn't scary at all as it really won't affect the sound of a cymbal much. As long as it's not cracking you're fine. Either way I'm sure you'll enjoy'em!

something we don't have?

i dunno about that...

I have 2 sets of new beats. 13s and 14s.

They are amazingly versitile hihats though, i agree. I've used both sets in numerous situations ranging from combo jazz to modern hard rock. I like the 13s more because they're a little more aggressive sounding. The 14s are REALLY dirty and old so they are perfect for low volume jazz gigs.

Both of my top hats are keyholed too... bummer. The price I have to pay for getting cymbals that are ten years older than me.
