Default Full kit setup (finally)

Hello people
I have had partial setups on here before but this is my full setup.

The rehearsal rooms my band use finally had a storage space so i have finally had my own kit at a rehearsal.
The studio's kits and hardware were plain terrible, it was an absolute joy to play on a kit which didn't break halfway through songs.

Anyway, it also meant that for the first time ever i have had the time, space and stands to set up the full kit so i took a couple of photos.

cymbals from left to right

12" splash cut down from unknown Zildjian china
14" AAX Stage Hats
16" HHXtreme Crash
18" HHX Studio Crash
20" K Pre Aged Dry Light Ride
19" AAXplosion Crash
14" unknown china - i got this cheap from a drum store in london, its malformed, covered in patina, riveted, crazy random homemade lathing and sounds quality

The kit is a black export with black rims, 22" 12" 16" but i try and borrow a 14" floor tom from the studios stage custom each time, until i can afford a 14" tom. I have a 13" as well but i prefer one up top so its still sat at home in a cupboard with the stock heads on it. For sale if anyone's interested!

The snare is a Chad Smith signature with a Remo CS Dot.
Toms have coated emperors on the batter and diplomats on the reso side.
The bass has an EMAD batter and the stock reso.
Random hardware Pearl/Premier/other...

Rubber dipped 5A wood tip Zildjian sticks, at the moment anyway.
hope you like it, let me know what you think

Nice looking set up. Balanced and functional. Great assortment of lids. Is your ride stand mounted on your bass?

thank you, balanced is definitely something i set out for when i setup.
no the ride is just on a normal boom stand but the boom is quite short so its tucked right into the kit.

I notice we have pretty similar tastes in cymbals... In other words, I love your setup :D I really like (and have) the AAX Stage Hats and AAXplosion crash. How are the HHXtreme and HHX Studio Crashes?

bonjourno

the aax hats are really nice actually, pretty versatile, quite tight and funky. I bought them from topcat this summer cos they were cheap compared to lots of others i was looking at and i'm really happy with them.

the HHX crashes are great, love them. The xtreme sounds great with louder rock music, it has the tone and pitch of a 16 but the cut to carry it. The studio is my favourite cymbal along with my ride, just a great all round cymbal. The hhx's compliment each other great and the aax offers a little extra when its needed.

The ride has a glassy crash sound as well so i crash that a lot too.
