Default Project "HOOLIGAN" Finished

Okay then...

Those of you that have followed the slow progress on my other thread will know it's been a while since I first posted that thread.

I am pleased, very pleased to say that even though it has not followed the original plan... the project is now complete (almost), the only thing left to do is to arrange delivery to it's new owner.

What do you think then guys?

Very nice indeed. Now you need to sign and date each piece on the inside.

Thank you very much, although I can't take all the credit, I had a lot of help from a friend with the polish.

The shells had a "pine water stain" and then 10 - 12 coats of a wax based polish, 1 coat per day leaving 24 hours between each coat for drying and "hardening" it's more like a French polish, I did almost all of the preparation and cleaned all the chrome, my friend did the stain and polish, he knew what he was doing haha

WOW!

What a transformation from what it was originally. I dont think I have ever seen a "budget" kit come out so well when refinished. Mr B, it looks great!

And whats this new owner thingymajig? I thought you were keeping it for a gig kit??

Cheers chief :-)

I was, and still want to keep it for a gigging kit, but what with funds being the way they are at the moment etc... if I hadn't found a buyer, it would still be sitting there teasing me and taunting me begging me to spend time and money I just don't have, so the lesser of the two evils won.

I am hoping that when he sees it he won't like it so I actually get to keep it LOL

if he does take it then I'm going to start saving towards some new shells from Highwood, and put it through a similar process as I'm really pleased with the way this has turned out.

Excellent work! How does the sound compare to the way it used to be?

Well, I'm assuming by the reaction I got when I spoke to the guy a day later, they sound great. I was hoping he wouldn't like them so I could keep them for myself, but when he saw them in the back of the car on Saturday morning, such a huge grin appeared on his face, so I kinda knew he was definitely having them then :-(

Will be having another crack at something like this when the cash is a little more available.
