Default Ludwig Bass drum

I've been looking rather unsuccessfully for some time for a 20x16 Ludwig bass drum with a black wrap or lacquer finish.

I have an 80s Rocker kit that sounds pretty nice and want to have the 20" to go with that rather than the 22" that goes with it.

Obviously I can't get a Rocker model anymore, but have considered ordering a bass drum from Ludwig. I was thinking about a Classic drum because I believe that sonically, it would match the Rockers (maple/poplar) better than an Accent CCS Custom Elite (birch). But I saw in the other thread that there's quite a wait.

So I guess I'd like some opinions and/or info from you guys.

First, is my assumption about the sonic characteristics correct? Is the wait time for the Accent drum as long as for the Classics, and does anyone know of some good sources of used drums that I can contact?

Thanks everybody.

A black cortex wrap could be quite possibly be the easiest and most common drum wrap you'll ever try to match. I'd take a look on eBay for a 20x16 kick. You could also get a 20x16 Keller shell and matching hoops and build your own, or find a local builder to do it for you. And if you want the hardware to match, take the lugs, T's and claws and spurs off your 22 and put them on the 20.

You would think that, but I've been looking on eBay for months and have yet to see one.
A custom built one may be how I'll have to do it.
