Default "Papa Joe" Porcaro

Have any of you or are you CURRENTLY playing through Joe Porcaro's "Drum Set Method" book???

If so...what are your thoughts?

I got this for myself as a birthday gift. Let's just say it's my opinion Joe pulls no punches. He's not afraid to throw it out there and see who can 'catch' what he's written.
I'm slowly working my way through the first chapter (had this for about a week...).

I'm told if you can read through this book-and conquer what's there, reading anything else is a breeze. (This from somebody who has taken lessons from Joe).

Should you want to hear some of Joe's finer work, grab the James Nwwton-Howard & Friends Sheffield labs disc. His auxillary playing only augments what Jeff does on kit.
There are some really gorgeous things Joe does on those tunes.

He's one of the best on the planet, I think. Real solid. That's what drums and percussion are supposed to be. I can see how his talent for this rubbed off on his kids.

VERY cool cat.

I'm not familiar with his work but the nut doesn't fall too far from the tree (oh how trite!).

I'll check it out...thanks!
