Default Question: Pearl Session in Birdseye?

I was at a local pawn shop and saw a beautiful bass drum on display -- a 22" Pearl Session in birdseye maple. They have the full kit, but I've never seen this model in birdseye. Anyone can help me with this? It looks to me from the web that the Pearl sessions were more towards the economy side, and never in birdseye.

I play Ludwig Classic Maple 4 pc. in Champagne sparkle. (Just picked up the kit, and love it.) The Pearl looks to be gorgeous, however...

To my knowledge the only kit Pearl made in birdseye was the Custom Z (CZX) in champagne birdseye, and it's truly one of the greatest kits ever made. Thick maple shells, huge sound and great tone! If it's one of them, snap it up!! They were Pearl's flagship kit back in the day, and were expensive as hell back then!

Went back to the pawn shop... got them to pull out some of the toms, and then I could see that the birdseye was a wrap... still dang pretty, but not a real veneer. I do have to say that they sure sound good, however. They must be maple (like my Luds). If I hadn't just bought my Classic Maple kit I'd be jumping on these...

Have a bunch of Sabian AA cymbals, too, in the mix...
