you dont want a hi hat or ride cymbal? Ok. A customs and AAX's are both great. I would also check out the K and K customs. Check out the Zildjian A thin crash also. Look at the AAX Dark, studio, and Stage crashes. They are all great cymbals, but ultimatley it is up to you which ones you choose to buy and use.

Do not just limit yourself to Zidljian and Sabian, there are so many other great brands that make cymbals with great sound and quality. Sabian and Zildjian are just the most popular, that does not make them any better.

Zildjian A THIN crash? K customs? those are thin weighted, and probably wouldn't hold up to a punk drummer. The thinnest cymbal weights Ive seen punk drummers go are medium-thin.

I'd go with the heavier cymbals for punk. But you may want to keep your sizes down to 16-18. Chances are you'll be playing in smaller spaces. The zildjian Z series are great for it. Especially in those sizes. Sabian AAX explosions are pretty heavy. The thinner weights get sucked into the heavy guitars and decay to quickly to do much good.

yeah i agree. i dont want the thinner cymbals because im worried about breaking them.
i just picked up a chad smith explosion 18.5 in and 20.5 inch. i got them for there size and bright sound, but will this work? they are made with the same material as the b8 and im afraid they might break in a year or 2.( theres another forum for it.)
