Default The Black Panther Kung Fu Snare Drum

Hey guys - check this thing out. It's not "mine" though. I ordered it for a customer and it just came in so I had to grab pics of it. I was told by Mapex that this was the FIRST one to be bought in the USA. It is very limited edition too...I only had 3 in my region. It may not be your cup of tea..but I thought it was pretty cool. ;-)

That is amazing. Just out of curiosity, what is the ballpark for something like that.

The BP snare I almost bought a year ago was about $330. It sounded great. I still wish I would have bought it. It was the hand hammered bronze 14x6.5.

The Hand Hammered Bronze snares sound great! I've got a hand hammered and a polish (smooth) bronze snare and the HH sounds much better.

Wow that thing is sweet!

Question though... Is it a metal snare painted black? It looks like that with the logos in the side, they look like they are metal.

Karl, looks like we where on the same page with that question lol.

black plated stainless steel shell, etched with graphics representing the disciplines of Kung Fu weaponry: spear, hammer, wand, knife, fist, sword and bow... includes special edition drum head and heavy duty padded carrying case (retail value of $129.99). 1mm shell thickness 2.3mm Chrome Powerhoops fully adjustable throwoff and butt plate 20 strand snappy snare.

The shell starts out as a solid cast steel pipe only to get cut and routed by Mapex crafstmen into perhaps the most powerful and remarkable Black Panther snare drum. Sound control rigns are routed into the inside of the shell giving you maximum volume with a high degree of control. It's 17.3 pounds of pure fun.
