Be-autiful. I love your collection of vintage kits, all three of them look to be in great shape, but most of all I love your 11 piece ... probably the most uniquely impressive setup I've seen with that many drums.

Love the vintage kits. I know it's a "to each their own" kinda thing, but I'd rather have 3 vintage kits over 1 new $5K set.

Those Drums are gorgeous man! Congratz. The way I see it, I didn't really anything wrong with them, and That K Ride looks awesome!!

Finally got the nerve to try to break down my setup of a few years now and try out something I've been meaning to do ever since I got my 18" floor tom: Set up like Neil Peart. For the most part the drum configuration is correct, the sizes of the toms are slightly different and I had to make some changes based on my equipment, but the basic premise is there. Also the cymbal setup was influenced by his, but by no means is anything near a direct copy.
Here it is on the Facebook: http://csuchico.facebook.com/album.p...98&id=29910722

For the vintage kits, you might want to find the 60's rail mounts and matching rims so they look classier. The rims and the stand holding them up, just does not fit.

In any case, I like the freedom that mounting off a stand gives me. If I really need to do a gig where I am supposed to look like I'm from that period, I would probably put on the rail mounts, but the RIMS off a stand is so much easier at this point. I'll drink to that, Harry.

Well last night I was surfing the 'Bay and found a deal that was too good to pass up, $700 for a set of mid-50's Radio Kings in WMP. Similar to the ones I've got now, but older. Pics will be up when they arrive.

I was going to ask why you dont just spend more money on your main kit instead of buying alot of older ones.......but then I saw your pearl and I dont think that it is possible to add anything else!!!!!! hahaha
Nice kits. I'm really looking to get some alternate kits as well once I get my custom kit thats being built in. |

Thanks, Brokenglass. Yeah, I've pretty much bought every possible tom diameter that goes with that kit, I haven't bothered with all the different depths and don't think I will. I've also kept it at one bass drum for the sole reason that I don't ever use double bass and would have no use for another bass drum.

Yes, I'm squaring with that fact now. Fortunately I know that I can probably keep them where they are, and I don't plan on moving far away if/when I do move out, so they'll always be close. And I am saving a good bit of money too.
