Default Has anyone seen dream theater?

Because they are playing around me next week =) I'll somehow have to find the money for the tickets but I think I'll be able too. Sorry, I just had to get the excitement out and was wondering if anyone has ever seen them live before.

I was at the April 1st 20th aniversary concert at Radio City Music Hall on dvd :) awsome concert. obviously, i like the band very much (see my user name haha). and this really sucks, when they're playing in Texas, I'm still in NY, and when I move to Texas, they're playing in NY :( . oh and the band that's opening for them, Into Eternity, I took classes taught by their drummer (Steve Bolognese) at the Berklee Percussion Festival a few weeks ago. ultra cool guy. very personable. great drummer too. lots of knowledge.

Yeah, I've seen them 4 times, and Liquid Tension once. Awesome shows.

I saw them a few years ago in Chicago while they were on their 6 degrees tour. They sounded amazing - like listening to the record with some freebies thrown in. The first set was songs mostly from that album. The second set was a complete cover of the "Master of Puppets" CD (the cover was the new backdrop with DT instead of Metallica) - they did justice to it. Good times!

I will be on August 18th at the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto.

I can't wait, my biggest anticipation is what their setlist is going to be comprised of.

I can't wait to see them, even if I have to borrow money from someone lol. Has anyone seen them outside before? They are playing at The Backyard Amphitheater here in Austin, which is an awesome place because it has a canopy of oak trees above us. I'll even go if it rains lol.

Outdoor events are great, and if there is a canopy there is nothing to worry about.

I saw them once.

Very, very, very boring show.

John Petrucci just stands in one place, as does Jordan, the singer and the bassist.

Portnoy is the only one who gets into it.

The music sounded perfect. However, when I go to see a band play, I want to see some visual entertainment as well. When they just stand like statues, I figure I could be home listening to the CD.

Mike is a great entertainer as well as a fantastic musician. The others are great musicians in their own right, just crappy entertainers.

Agreed, after 3 hours my feet started to hurt as well. Most people's eyes are on Portnoy at there shows.

My friend has seen them once, and he is also going to see them near the end of the summer. He said it was one of the greatest things he has ever seen.

ya, watching videos i see what you mean, they could move a little more. Some parts they play are just so nuts that they probably couldn't walk much while playing them, but short of Mike, they do stand arund a lot (i don't think Jordan has a choice).

I've seen them twice, once on the Train Of Thought tour and once on the Octavarium. They're definitely one of my favorite bands and I'm going to see them again in September.
