That is a tiny, tiny snare drum.

The ride is nice but I don't know much about Bosphorus or other traditional Turkish cymbals... But as far as I know it's nice.

Nice setup same as mine pretty much, That really is a tiny snare what size is it? 12"? and is that a pearl export? Looks exactly like my old black laquor 5 pc export.

hi, its a 10" Mapex pro steel snare, It dont tune it that high but It still has a great pop, and make more place for my legs. The rest of the drums are Pearl exports.
Thanks

Very nice setup!
Good selection of Bos pies, although I'm not a big fan of the Antique series. But I'm sure it will suit you well.

I do dig that 10" snare.. I love the smaller diameter snares, and yours is no exception. :)

Another great Bosphorus! Half lathed-half unlathed cymbals like this are great and I`m especially curious about the sound of those Flat Rides...

However, cool cymbal you`ve got there. Do you have a new video or sound clip?

Very nice! My 19" Thin Antique is wonderful. A great ride and equally a great crash.

SM57 and my father's 30yr old SM58 as overheads, an unknown mic a friend gave me for the bass drum, going into a mixpad9 i got on ebay, going into a mobilepre sound card I aslo got on ebay, going into garage band.

I now realize the to mic were too close to th cymbals and it distorts? a little bit.

I really have to get a cheap recording setup next year. I hate the sound off of my digital camera.

if you check ebay contantly, and get lucky, you can get a decent mixer for under 50$ (i got mine for 46)
and i think its better to get condensers as overheads.

Sounds great! Sound quality is good, too...and the Ride sounds really thin, a good contrast to the turk Ride.

Give us more. :-P

A non Turk series pie?

Whats next Rob?

A non-Gretch kit?

Seriously, I think its nice to have lots of different cymbals, And with Bosphorus You get lots of variety with each cymbal model.

Yeah! You have a great feeling for the style!! That definitly sounds groovy...and your cymbals and drums sound impressive, too.
A few things I thought about: Work really really strong and hard on your swing. Start slowly with it and work it out till you can play it very constant. The swing and your ride playing represents you as a Jazz drummer. At the moment (at this tempo) it sounds more like a buzz roll.
Also keep up working on your comping. Jack DeJohnette`s comping book is a great help but the main help for me is listening. What Jazz style/musicians do you like to listen to most?

Just keep it up man...I love your style, your feel.

Glad I didn`t sound too harsh...and yeah, hope that helps. I`m totally sure that it will get better...day for day.

PS: I`ll try to get the Sonor 3007...then I can probably (if I can get the recording equipment) record new and better stuff, too.

Keep me updated bro...all cool!

Well...at least I`ll try. I have contact with a salesman from a local store and he would order a small Sonor Force 3007 directly from Sonor...here is the thread with more details about the kit, deal, colours etc.

http://www.drummerworld.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=28257

Either I will sell it over him or normally. I`ll see.
For a long time I fell in love with the warm Sonor sound...and now I wanna finally do it.
Just hope the deal works out well.

thanks. haha, right now I`m a bit pessimistic and sceptical because of the deal. I would have to sell the Tama Superstar shellset (without hardware, just with tom holders) for about 950 €. (about 1300 USD!!)
though it is in perfect condition and I would give away my 12" Sabian HHX Evolution splash for free (in great condition, too). In Germany that could work out. Goooo...I can just hope.

It is $400 cheaper to buy a brand new any Tama Superstar in the US (Even more savings for other types), so I would imagine it would be a similar pricing difference in Europe as well. You are going to have throw in alot more stuff if you want ever even have the set considered.

Well, here in Germany a Tama Superstar Custom 5-piece with hardware costs about 1500 USD. But you`re right, I have to give away some more stuff to do this. I really wanna keep it fair...maybe a Snare drum, too...and a crash? We`ll see what I can give away and how it goes out.

Good stuff!! Nice swing and very very mature comping imho! Also this solo in between was great. you didn`t show off all your chops but you were playing very musically.
Only in the beginning you were sometimes a bit behind the beat but in this case like the laying-back feel. And one time you`re on 1 and 3 with the Hi-Hat chick...no biggie.
It was swingy indeed. Like it!

PS: We`re in the same boat... ;-)
