Thanks for all the nice replies. Let me try and answer all your questions. First off, it is new for 2007. DW actually offers quite a few of their metal snares in knurled finishes. Such as, bronze,brass, chrome, copper, steel and black nickel over steel. Secondly, the snare does have a nice high pitch to it but with a depth of 6.5" it also has a little warmth. Third, I actually got the snare brand new off ebay for $315. The guy selling it only had it on a 3 day auction so it didnt get alot of attention. He only had it a few weeks and it didnt even have a stick mark on the original head. Brand new this snare goes for about $469 best price. I am truly a wood snare person but this just is so different I had to have it. Thanks again!
