Default Weird Question

Alright guys, this is probably pretty strange.

I was cleaning out the basement today, and found a large box labeled "pots & pans". I opened it up and found a large assortment of pots and pans. Being the drummer I am, I immediately grabbed a pair of sticks from my nearby drum set and had my brother hold various pans, skillets, lids and pots. I realized how cool some of them sounded, and especially noticed one or two that sounded like cowbells. Now, I've always wanted a cowbell for my kit, but never got around to buying one. Now, I have some free, but I need to think of how to mount them. Any ideas, guys?

Thanks!

Nostalgia! What you are saying is reminding me of what Tommy Lee has done recently with his "industrial kit." I wouldn't have the first clue on how to mount your newly found tools. All that I know is... if truly want to use it, you will find a way.

Also.. check out Tommy's drum solo on the "Carnival Of Sins" DVD. It might give you some incredible ideas.

I figured I could also just take all of them and put them between two 2x4's and tighten it to make a row of all of them. It would make a pretty killer youtube video. ;)

If the pan is small enough, perhaps you could Duct-tape the handle to an L-rod.

How about hanging one off a cymbal stand or double tier rack?

Do the handles have holes on the end for hanging? Put them on a cymbal stand.

That's what I was thinking. If the hole is big enough you should be able to just hang them off a stand and put the wing nut back on. If there aren't any holes or if the hole isn't big enough, drill one. Or, you could always take a multi clamp, clamp one end to a cymbal stand, and then clamp the handle of the pot or pan in the clamp, with the handle facing down.

Ya - multi clamps or something - Check out Gibraltars hardware parts - there should be something there you can use or get a good idea on how to mount it (them). Good luck with it.

something like this for instance..........

i have the perfect idea if you can understand it, so ill put it in steps

1. measure the width of your cymbal and/or tom mounts
2. find a drill bit the same size, make the handle hole bigger with that drill bit
3. slide it on the cymbals stand (obviously)
4. take a hand clamp (http://www.glmshows.com/display/dsc_022.jpg thing on the left of the picture) and put it on the cymbal stand UNDER the pot handle so it doesn't slide down.

it worked for me, but i kept breaking my sticks so i took it off
