Hi there, just wanted to show you some pics of my gear.

We have:

Drums: Sonor SQ2 Vintage Beech in Scandinavian Birch

20x18
10x8
14x14

Snares:
1. Brady Jarrah Ply Santos Palisander Gloss 14x5,5
2. Brady Jarrah Ply Blackheart Satin 12x7.
3. Tama 14x5,75 Birds Eye Maple shell, Artwood from 1994.
4. Sonor SQ2 Snare with Thin Birch shell. Scandi-veneer in and out.
5. Wahan Stainless Steel 14x5.

Hardware: Sonor 600, Pearl Eliminator 2002B Doublepedal. Pork Pie Round Boy Throne

Sabian Vault Artisan Light Ride 22"
Sabian HHX Legacy Crash 17"

Awesome kit man! That finish is killlllllerrrrrr and those snares are to die for! Man I want a Delite or SQ2 so bad, for now I'm stuck with my 2005 :-D

AWESOME! Whats the big thing with scandanavian birch? Whats the difference to normal birch? I have a sonor 2007 so i love sonors... Great kits.

Here is a...well...kind of "soundfile":

It is just the cam mic, but I am currently working on bringing "real" sound and video together.

It is the Wahan snare. There is no dampening at all except an EMAD muffling ring.

I use coated Emperors on the toms and coated Ambas on the snaredrums.

And a long one with the SQ2 snaredrum which is not tuned properly. The sound is not very balanced at all because of the cam thing.

I`m just speechless!! Sonor`s SQ2 drums sound simply awesome!! With that typical warmth and this nice tone. haha...dream drums.
Also nice cymbals, I owned a pair of evolution hats...they sounded cool.

And your nice vids gave me an idea of your sound.

Amazing kit! And amazing cymbals. The 22" Artisian light is an amazing cymbal, so beautiful Although I didn't think they came in a brilliant finish like that...Can we get some more pics, no amount is too many, especially of the cymbals. Although I can't spot the Manhattan...

SB is just a veneer (someone told me it is some sort of ill birchwood), the shells are beech.

The hihat clamp is a Sonor MH475 I think, plus Sonor X-hat and a Sonor multiclamp.

I started a revolution :) The SQ2 is really a great kit, I absolutely love it! Generally I can recommend beech for a very balanced sound with plenty of warmth and power. I am fan of thin shells because they sing and are very versatile.

I paid about 2000 Euros for the shellkit consisting of 20x18, 10x8 and 14x14.

The Artisans are made both in regular and in brilliant finish.

I have an SQ 2 as well. Nice set up. I remember seeing that on the Sonor Museum discussion board a few months ago.

I was going to get a 6 pc in golden madrone finish, but I couldn't have stood the wait, so I settled with something else.

Seriously though, conratulations on having the priviledge to make music on such a phenomenal instrument.

Amazing! I like the Artisian better in the Traditional finish though. They sound like such a versitile cymbal from the sound files on the Sabian site. I would love one but boy are they expensive! Hows the Manhattan? From the soundfiles on the Sabian site it wasn't really my cup of tea.

The medium Artisans are a little more versatile than the light ones. They both have a great woody attack sound followed by a very jazzy but pretty loud wash. Great dynamic range. I love them :)

The Manhattan is pretty quiet. It has a nice sound but compared to the Artisans the dynamics are limited.

I could only wish that one day i own something as beautiful as that, sonor really do make the nicest looking drums and IMO the best sounding.

I love those drums, if I could have 1 kit it would be an SQ2, and the snare collection is great. My favourite (looks wise) is the SQ2 snare.

The best sounding snaredrum in my collection - for me - is the 14x5,5 Brady. Dynamic range, power and sensitivity are unmatched!

The SQ2 has a more controlled sound (fat diecasts) with perfect articulation, ghost notes are extremely precise!

The 12x7 Brady sounds fatter than most 13 or 14" snares! No joke! A very powerful, "hollow" sound with great sensitivity. I love that drum! Problem: it detunes very fast.

The Wahan Stainless has a very broad dynamicrange and does not really sound like a steelsnare. Sensitivity is as good as with the Sonor snare. I can only recommend that drum to anyone looking for a warm sounding metalsnare with power and extreme sensitivity! No comparison to most of the steel snares available from other manufacturers.You can hear it here (just the cam mic):

I had a feeling you would say the 5.5x14 Brady. I recently picked up a Jarrah ply in your size and it's the bset snare I've ever played.
