Default New snare, new band, new setup.

Since the classic rock/funk/blues/r'n'b thing is done, we started a ska band so the need for such a variety of cymbals disappeared, as did the rack.

I'm loving this setup right now as it's so open. My playing is so much more fluid with less stuff around me for some reason. And it gives me an excuse to get all the beer, cigarette smoke and general road wear on the 16" tom that all the other drums are so lucky to experience all the time.

Also - the 12x7" BP snare is a must have. It's amazing. I think the orang-ey finish on it compliments the cranberry of the Pacifics pretty well.

Very nice and clean looking, I like it. Is that a ride on your left as well? Are those Pacifics?

Very nice cymbals and set up. Your BP does complement the kit very well.

the ride on the left is my 18" breakbeat. I went to that gig not intending to use it, but got through one set without it and had to get it out of the case. It makes a fine crash too.

And yes, it's a 2002 Pacific LX.

/\ /\ /\

Double bass can be used in ska for split tom fills. Doubles over doubles.

BTW, Thanks to your kit I now have set my kit up like that.

Yeah, it's for fills... like four sixteenths on tom1, 2 sixteenths on the kick, 4 sixteenths on tom2... etc.

"The rabbit" (drummer for Reel Big Fish) plays a double pedal.

Plus we get a little heavy now and then... no gravity blasts or anything, but there's the ocassional 4 bar section of straight double bass under an 80's butt rock guitar solo chock full of squealies and everything. We don't like to take ourselves too seriously.

As you know, I have the same snare.

Fantastic, especially for those on a budget like me.

Very cosy looking setting,. I likes it.
