Default Tama Hand Hammered Aluminum Snare Drum

This is one of the coolest Tama drums I've seen:

Agreed. Though I prefer the sound of wood snares.

Mhhh nice.
If I am allowed to know that: How much was it?

How can you define the the sound?
The hammering looks quite cool...darker than a normal aluminium snare, right?

That looks very interesting. I like the little hammer logo. How does the hammering effect the sound. I imagine it breaks up the parallel reflections inside the shell, but what does that translate to?

As much as I hate to say it, guys, I just received it and haven't played it.

I like hammered metal drums. I have a couple of hammered bronze drums and a hammered copper drum. I think the hammering generally makes them a little drier and warmer than their unhammered counterparts, with perhaps a slightly "woody" tone.

I was intrigued by this drum because it has a 3mm shell, which is about twice as thick as a typical metal shell. I bought the drum used on eBay, for $232.50 US.

Tama also made (makes?) a hammered copper snare drum. I'm on the hunt for that one now.......

That looks really cool. I think the little hammer thing is awsome.

Hammered snare drums look amazing! I bought the june addition of md and I saw an amazing snare. Black Panther Hammered Phosphor Bronze. All the Black Panther snares look extreme! congrads on the snare too! If i just got a snare i would go play as soon as i possibly could not take pics of it.

Badassssss....that is one chunky mutha, what are the dimensions?

I have the 12x4 model of the previous Hand Hammerred Tama line, but they were steel, not aluminium.
