Default 2 more snares...

This one is a keeper... Unix here on the boards made the shell and I did all the drilling and attached the hardware. I'm pretty sure I got the easy part of that deal. This Santos Mahogany is HARD wood. It makes drilling through maple look like cutting butter if that gives you any idea. I'm waiting to go pick up longer bolts so I can attach the strainer but so far it sounds pretty cool in timbale like form.

Oh.. this next one isn't mine. It was a gift I put together for my drum teacher. For a little 12x3.5 it sounds good enough to be your main snare believe it or not. The thin shell (6 ply keller) brings out a pretty deep tone and it's sensitive ALL the way to the edge with minimal ring. Might have to make one for myself now!

You could use it as a main snare.. I gave it to my drum teacher though so I'm not sure how he's using it. I'll see if I can steal it and take it to the recording studio.

Both look really nice.

The green finish with gold hardware looks really classy too.

Get us a recording!

Wow that your snare drums sound great is clear to me...and that they look awesome.
This 12x3.5" would be one unique addition...ha, but no money.

Anyway, I guess you get so many positive comments on them, right?

Karl

Haha... yea it's nice to get feedback for sure. I've got no intentions of building for a living so this is just something I do with my free time. It's funny the green one started as just a way for me to test out some water based transparent paints and it came out soo nice I just had to finish it and turn it into something that could be played. I'll sneak it away from my teacher so I can record it though.

I pretty much sell them at cost or close to it so I can get more shells to play with actually. They don't stick around long lol
