Default I want pics of your symmetrical setup!

Hello Drummers!

I am totally enjoying this forum. Lots of great discussions...

I am dedicating a page on my site to ambidextrous type playing and symmetrical setups...If you have a kit that is like this and would like to be on this page, please send pics and other info to: info@ambadextro.com

Thank you and I hope I have not breached any rules here! If I have, I apologize in advance!

Thank you all!

Best,

Michael

Hello "the Limey"

I would love to see your kit...but unfortunately when I try to open your "myKit" link, It doesn't!
If you have a pic you could sent to the email, I would love to get it on the site!

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Michael

awesome site there, i saw bill bruford at the weekend (king on the symmetrical set-up you could argue), which has inspired me to make my kit even more symmetrical. now just need to buy some clamps and stuff so i can...

Hey Micheal!
Are you THE Michael I talked with on myspace?

Hey, I`ll just send you a pic of my set-up...though I`m not sure whether that is symetrical enough.
Anyway, if you don`t find it symetrical, it`s okay.

Karl

Bruford can arguably be the modern king of this type of setup...and you got to see him...jealousjealousjealousjealous.....drooldroold rool....he was/is one of my drumming heroes...I grew up listening to King Crimson....have most of their records...yes...records...not cd's...I'm too freaking old!!

Peace, bro...oh...did I mention I was jealous??

Good for you!
Peace,

AmbA

Great site, amba. I don't have a symmetrical kit, but I do like what you're doing. The audio on your video clips sounds great. I see that you used a very nice mic. Was the audio recorded on the videotape, then imported into the computer? Are you using miniDV tape?

Disco Stu, (great name!)

Thank you very much for your lovely words!
In regard to your question on recording the audio, I have a Sony PD-150 MinDV camcorder...this particular camera has two XLR in's...(I set the audio for L and R on one input...so I was able to "in" the Peluso into the Sony...then when I captured it into my computer, the entire file, vid and aud was "thrown" into the time line...I did normalize the audio in Sound Forge first...then saved it as an .avi to later be edited...
I have 6 more vids going up today:
An example of one of the Moeller strokess, fingers shared with Trad and Matched and Single stroke shared with Trad and Matched....those should be up in hours!

Peace and thank you very much again, D.S.!!

Peace, bro....

Great. I look forward to the new videos.

As for me, I use a Panasonic DVX100 which also has XLR inputs. Unfortunately, I don't have any high quality mics to plug into them. So, the audio on my videos, while better than most consumer cameras, isn't that great. If I had the money, I would spring for a couple good mics and a high quality sound editing program like Pro Tools. For now, they remain on my wish list. But it's still good to know how others are achieving good audio recordings. Thanks for the info.
