Default the tubs in studio....plus some cool random stuff

well.....it's been awhile since i've posted the set.....so here goes nothing....i've gotten rid of the 20"ping ride since the last post, i'm trying to figure out what i want to replace it, but i havn't heard anything i have to have yet so, i'll just let that perfect ride make itself known....i'm not using the 16" floor tom in the pics, and i'm actually working on converting it to a bass drum for smaller gigs....

kit.....

Ddrum dominion ash in lime green sparkle(not so much sparkle in the pics....sorry)
7x13 snare
20x20 kick
12x8 rack tom
14x12 floor tom
16x12 floor tom....not pictured

cymbals.....
15" vintage zildjian hats(not sure the series)
20" vintage zildjian crash/ride (again not sure what series)
16" AAXplosion crash
18" AAXplosion crash

Tama hardware, and a yamaha pedal (about to buy either a pearl eliminator or an IC...cant decide)......i also use a pearl icon curved rack when i set up more cymbals, which is rare....

randomness.........
a 16" walberg and auge vintage bass drum....awesome for jazz (unsure of it's age...if any of you could help with that, i'd greatly appreciate it)

a cymbal i made into a clock....18" crash ride A
and a dw collector's series color display (i work in the drum shop at the local guitar center and we ran outta room for it, so they let me take it home!)

and on to the pics!!!

(btw the last pic is one when i first got the kit)

Nice set, I like the finish. I'd love to sit at it and play for awhile.

i also enjoy the finish....it's painted so the quality is all there, i just wish there was more sparkle to it.....but it's different than other kits ive seen and that's what i like most, so it works for me

Beautiful looking kit you have there.

When do we get to hear clips of the sound in the studio???

I would love to hear the Ash kit.

That setup looks really, really confortable. When you look at a kit and think "I want to sit down there now!" then there's something right about it!

well.....here's the deal.....the studio is terrible, i was just recording for a freinds ep....which is also terrible, they honestly sound like crap becase he did ecerything analog and had no clue what he was doing, but the band was happy with it so i didn't wanna start changing stuff up. i'll record some stuff in my home studio later and post that cuz it sounds twice as good.

I like the setup and homemade clock. Are you gonna try and find lugs and rims for the DWs? Do they have bearing edges cut? Love the vintage cymbals and bass drum, too.

ummmm....well, the display is made of ACTUAL dw collector's series shells, cut in half, mouinted to a backboard.....bearing edges and all....if the weren't cut in half, they would have already been made into mini bass drums

it's a peavey pv14usb.....it's awesome considering i can run all my drums either straight to a main mixer (it's means i mix my own drums, nd the sound guy just worries about volume of the set as a whole)...or it plugs straight into my computer for recording w/o preamps, firewire, etc....i love it, just wish it had more eq and compression, and i'd be set.

Ooooh, so they're half shells. Well that makes it a little more difficult to make drums out of them.

Drummer,
Regarding that Auge, I have a 1940's era shoulder slung snare drum that has similar hardware and construction. I would guess that its from around the same time and judging by the hole drilled in the side, probably a marching drum as well.

If you ever decide to sell that badboy, please let me know.

Take care.

well, the hole in the side was a soundhole, the guy i bought it from sent me the original peice that goes in it....of course that was four years ago and through the course of two moves from house to house, i have seemed to misplace it.....which i could shoot myself for......do you have any clue what that could be worth?

Probably not very much. I don't know what condition the shell is in, but I'm pretty sure thats not the original paint job and either way its flaking off.
