Default My nice shiney new sonor 2007 (so proud)

Here is my all new sonor 2007. What do ya reckon? amazing drums!!! cost just over 800 without hihat stand seat pedals cymbals etc.... (just tom mounts & 2x 400 series booms) Sorry about the poor phone camera quality it doesn't do them any justice.

Very nice, the hardware all looks very sturdy. What wood is it, the finish looks great.

Its an 9ply all birch kit. For a little more money you can get the 3007's that are canadian maple

The hardware in the bassdrum & tom mounting are the sonor 400 series & the rest is iron cobra pedals hihat & pearl cymbal stands.

The finnish is amazing. You can still see the grain of the wood. As i said these pictures let it down a bit though

Looks like you've got a good reason to be proud. Great looking kit! can I get some more specs (sizes, cymbals...)
I know how it feels to be let down by a cell phone camera. Yours seems to be better than mine though...

They sound great even with stock tom heads that i thought would be crap! Im waiting on some aquarian clear super 2's :o) I still need the put some holz of mine in the bassdrum heads as well. I cant get over the quality of these kits for the price! in this price range sonor is king! Its nice to be different as well as i live in south england & don't know anybody with a sonor & never played one at a gig. People buying pearl exports etc.. have no idea

What is it about Britain and exports, a lot of less in the know drummers think exports are THE ultimate kit. But I really like the look of a higher end mapex as my next kit, or maybe even a sonor,

Thanks mate. Its an old pearl free floater the snare. I bought it of a guy on ebay for 130 2 years ago. He said he bought it in new york in 1981 (the year i was born) while working on a cruize ship so it been going a while. I love the fact its got history. also they have hardly changed in 25 years.

I love in south england, I have never seen anyone with a Sonor kit. Where did you get it, if you don't mind me asking? It looks quality by the way.

Tom
I got it through http://www.ecymbals.co.uk (or adc drums in liverpool) If you email julain you can get any spec you want (within the main sonor 2007/3007 sizes). There one of the main suppliers of sonor in the uk.

I emailed on the of chance he could help me build the kit of my dreams. i emialed at around 5.30pm & he replyed in half hour telling me i could put together what i wanted from the avalible kits & he would build the kit up for me ( in my case i wanted upgraded hardware but no snare stand/hihat stand or bassdrum pedals or snare drum & i wanted 2x 22x17.5 bassdrums 10x8 12x9 14x14 16x16 toms). 3 weeks later my kit arrived from germany!

These drums are the best you can buy for your money. If you like maple rather than birch you pay a bit more. I like the focused sound of birch.

I skinned the toms thinking the heads supplied would be rubbish (remo ux) but got a fantastic tone from them. Ive ordered some clear aquarian super 2's so i cant imagen what there sound like with them on!

ive already got superkicks on bassdrums. They sound great. Should sound even better when i cut holes in the frontheads.
Still need to put holes in bassdrum skins (or just put band logo skins on)

I'll go along with that. Great lookin' kit in the very traditional hard rock/heavy metal 222 configuration. And I like the way you've set your hi-hat up leggless with a clamp. Classic.

Thanks alot. They sound good although ive still gotta put holes in the front heads to get the attack i want & so i can record them. They are like emads that ive owned before. People say they have a rounder tone in comparison & emads have a more slappy sound. Let us know what you think of yuors if you get them?

Holy Cow! Those are gorgeous! I have to say, of all the "modern" looking kits (meaning not vintage) out there , Sonor, in my opinion makes the most attractive kits. I think it has to do with combination of finish and imaginative but sturdy hardware. It's almost like sculpture, it's so unique compared to other drums. Like classic cars from the 30's. All that chrome and paint. Sonors are like Deusenbergs (sp?).

God those are nice! Bet your pleased :D Can't wait any longer for mine :(

Yeah I've orderded some stuff from adc drums before. Infact, waiting for some stuff to come, gold eliminator hihat stand and eliminator double pedal, prices are excellent, cheapest I could find.
