The 'other' kit is possibly an 80's Pearl Export?

Very nice indeed...

Very nice, I like the two 4 pc. kits facing eachother. That's how I learned to play drums. Me on 1 kit and my teacher on the other.
Are you from the Midwest USA?

Hey a Ludwig Acrolite! I've got one too. Now, just combine those two kits to a double bass kit and there you go. :)

I don't think he actually "built" the drum. Most people who "build" a drum (including a lot of companies) really just customize/finish a bare shell from Keller wood products. Unless he has the machinery necessary to make ply shells - now THAT would be cool!

Leo, I think it is totally cool you made your own double bass pedal. I don't know if I could do something like that. It takes a lot of ingenuity. I think it is so cool I added it to a list of hardware modifications at http://www.drummerworld.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=23501

The snare is outrageous - pink is a very flamboyant color. Not many people play with a pink drum. Why did you pick that color, if I may ask?

i was going to go with a blue or green something at least in the norm, but my bass player got to talking to me, and convenced me that pink would be sweet. so we made a deal i build a pink set, and he buys the pink mark hoppus sig bass...thats the story in a nut shell.

outrageous, in good or bad way?

there's a whole kit that color in one of the music stores around here.

If it wasn't such a piece of crap (like 350 bucks) I would buy it just to have a pink kit.

My guess on the brown kit: A rogers of some sort. Probably late seventies to early eighties?

you guys are giveing the brown set way to much credit. It was my first set, an enforcer. i refinished it redid the interiours and did a lot of bearing edge work on it. with the proformance IIs it sounds pretty good. Better than an export, i did a side by side thing just a few weeks ago.

to be honest becaue i have the old stuff laying around. The drum cost me roughly $25 to make. I was gunna do newer stuff but when i cut the egdes i just couldnt wait any longer.

the ride (sabian aarbdr) is good but i like my dream better. Its really bright and pingy with little sustain but then thats what it is for isnt it. It works really well with the music my band plays cuts through and doesnt get a washey. useless for jazz tho but that is why i have two rides set. I will never get rid of it that is for sure

Not for me...

I was redirected to Microsoft and was told I needed a license to listen to the file. Something about the file being copyrighted or something. See the following link:

Very weird...

hey dom, thats funny about the enforcer cuz right when i saw that drumset i knew that it was an enforcer, i actually did the same thing i stripped the wrap, stained it and put new heads on it and i also only use it as a four piece set, although i took off the bass drum mount and just used a clamp and a cymbal stand to hold up my rack tom, hopefully it will make a good christmas present for my younger brother well your sets look real nice, alright take care

merry christmas everyone

Are your kits incredibly large or have you shrunk the car in the background?
Nice kits and funny story behind the pink snare!
