Default Essentials!

Hi all! Just thought we could start a good thread, the idea being...

...list (one thing each) that is an essential that you have and need, (nothing obvious like sticks, if you really must say sticks then put the brand and make!)..there are other threads in a similar style but lets have one where we list specific gear that we love! i.e favourite tuning keys, favourite i dunno erm little things whatever really...thanks x

I like mapex drum keys. They are sweet and simple, but very well designed.

Remote hi-hat......makes so much more sense to have it at 12 o'clock

Equipment for daily pad warm-up routine - start > brushes > rods > light sticks > marching sticks

Great stuff, never thought of that. I had rehearsals yesterday and until you're out of your own environment you dont realise what you'll miss. I really find my stick holders useful x

The absolute must have...........cases.
Nothing goes out of the house without being in a case. My number one essential is the cases. And with 6 drumsets that share........this can be an issue. Especially if I have just moved a set to or from the church.

I dont need spare heads, In 32 years of playing I have never split a head. Occasionally I take a second different snare if I havent played in that venue before. I know some things will work better acoustically than others in a given room.
