Default Gibralter Hihat stand

Has or does anyone use the Gibralter Ultra Adjust hihat stand? Would it better accommodate a double pedal?

I saw these advertised in a sam ash catalog about a month ago. When I went to the store the guy looked at me like I was from another planet when I asked him about it, glad to see they know what's being advertised. To me it would definately help with a double bass pedal setup since it allows you to get the hats closer to the snare which I prefer. With that said I've yet to play one so I can't comment but to say it looks like a good idea! I'd like to try one to see how they feel and how the ball joints tighten up.

Yeah, I was also wondering about this... right now my hi-hat pedal is actually directly on the right side of my slave bass pedal just because I like the hats closer to the snare. However it's a 3-legged hi-hat stand, and it's kinda akward with the legs. So i was looking into maybe the no-legs ultra-adjust. But I'm broke.

I've gotten to try one of these stands, and I loved it, however i can't say whether or not it would be good for a double bass pedal, considering I'm purchasing one for the opposite reasons you guys are i like my pedal closer and my hi hat farther away, but I think it would help the placement of a double pedal.

I think they seem a bit awkward and bulky. If I were in a situation where I required adjustablilty I would just pay the $40 more to get a DW cable hi-hat stand.

Here you go! http://www.gibraltarhardware.com/?fa...sid=549&cid=27

You'd have to run a clamp to another stand to hold it.

I use the DW 9000 remote as my main hi hat stand. I love it. The 5 inches displacement from Gibraltar isn't enough for me.

I cut the legs off my DW500 hihat stand and clamped it to a cymbal stand. I also removed one of the legs from the cymbal stand, so the hihat stand is the "third leg." It's just as stable, except instead of having six feet on the floor, I just have two.

See the mod at http://www.drummerworld.com/forums/s...t=23501&page=2. You could do this also if you could remove the hinge rivets from the stand legs and got the right kind of clamp.
