Default Re: THE CLASSIFIEDS - For Sale / Wanted

I bought DW Drum Workshop 3000 series double pedal from amazon.
These are great pedals. I have the iron cobras on my acoustic set and got these from best buy for my electric set. Compared to the iron cobras there's not much of a difference. I got these brand new for $110 at best buy with a 5 year warranty. If you are going to get these pedals or the 5000 by dw then go to best buy.
Now I need the money, I would like to sell this item.

Default Feeler for Leedy & Ludwig kit sale

I'll soon be selling a beautiful early 50s Leedy & Ludwig kit. 8x12 tom, 16x16 floor tom, 14x22 bass drum (w/ original calf heads), 4.5x14 "New Era" snare AND a bonus matching 6.5x14 "Broadway" snare. The kit includes tons of extras like a cowbell, woodblock, hi-hat and snare stands, bass drum pedal, hoop mount cymbal arms, even NOS Leedy & Ludwig sticks and drum key. It's WMP finish, in great condition, and is one of the best sounding kits I've ever heard. No extra holes, mods or funny stuff. It's got a warm thump that is going to be hard for me to let go of!

I'd like to gauge interest from anyone looking for an incredible kit like this. I'm in the Los Angeles area.

Default YAMAHA OAK CUSTOM ORIGINAL FIRST SERIES $1500

This will probably be my first and last post ever on Drummerworld. I have come to the realization that my drums are better off with someone who will actually play them. I have never gigged them and I have never played them outside, they have been kept indoors all their life. It's not a fancy set up by any means, as I spent all my money on the drums and not the hardware (the hardware has held up fine for my purpose).

The Set is a Yamaha Oak Custom. This is the first series with the gold badge. And the color is a dark green wood stain. The do have a little dust on them but that's because I didn't feel like cleaning them when I took the pictures.

The current heads are remo pin stripe that sound okay, I was never very good at tuning drums. I think I like single ply heads much better. The reso head is the standard reso that came with the kit.

the kit includes:

22x17 oak custom bass

15x14 oak custom floor tom (pretty unique floor tom)

10x8 oak custom mounted tom

12 x 9 oak custom mounted tom

14x5.5 pearl SensiTone custom alloy brass snare (one of my favorite brass snares)

20in Zildjian A Custom Ping Ride

16in Zildjian A Custom Fast Crash (probably my favorite non K crash)

14in Zildjian Z custom Hi hat

pdp, pearl, gibraltar assorted hardware kit (everything to set it up like I have it now or the standard two toms on the bass and one on the floor)

Pearl double bass pedal

toca cowbell and bass mount

I will be more than happy to clean it up for the buyer (including polish the chrome to it's original luster), and depending on location, can deliver almost anywhere in my state (Virginia) or nearby states (depending) as I travel frequently. If you are in my area, please feel free to stop by and play the kit.

Price is $1500 for everything.

I am located in Blacksburg, Virginia, and frequent the Hampton Roads area as well as Northern Virginia/Washington DC.

If you have any questions please contact me via pm, email, text or call (will try to answer when I can)

email is jakec9@vt.edu

I tried to upload the images but they are too large.

Default Re: THE CLASSIFIEDS - For Sale / Wanted

Considering switching up my cymbal line-up to something darker, so I'm putting up everything I own up for sale/trade:
  • 20" Meinl Byzance Traditional Heavy Ride - $240
  • 18" Sabian HHX China - $160, small dent on edge under the top label (can be seen in picture), bought it new from Guitar Center and it happened turning shipping - no cracking or other structural damage, doesn't affect anything
  • 17" Zildjian A Custom Crash - $130
  • 16" Zildjian A Custom Crash - $120
  • 14" Sabian AAX Mini Chinese - $70, tiny crack at the edge (seen in picture); looks like the cymbal got bent slightly there and the crack formed at the tip, but I've owned this cymbal for 3+ years and it has not gotten any larger and still sounds great
  • 13.25" Zildjian K Custom Hybrid Hats - $260KEEPING THESE!
  • 22" Paiste 2002 Heavy Ride (not pictured) - $260, 1983 red label

Aside from the small flaws on the chinas, the cymbals are in fantastic shape with no keyholing - they could probably use a polish, but I usually like my logos to stay visible, so I haven't touched these...

As far as trades go, I'm mostly interested in Istanbul Agop, Bosphorus, Meinl Byzance and Zildjian K, but I'll certainly consider others.

Looking for:
  • 20"+ ride, preferably heavy... I don't do a lot of crashing on my rides, and I hate it when they wash out. A nice bell would be preferable, with nice stick definition throughout. Zildjian K Custom Dry Ride would be ideal!!
  • 16" crash - something smooth and complex.
  • 17-20" crash - same as above.
  • 14" hats - something with a lower "sizzle," rather than a "chick" and a smooth wash when open.
  • 18"+ flat china - must have a short decay with a lower tone... something lower in volume than your typical china. Thinking the Meinl Byzance Traditional Flat China here.

PM with offers! ;)

DW Collectors Series Maple/Mahogany bass drum, 18x23" with original DW heads in "like new" condition. Chrome hardware with the natural finish. The thing has a huge sound.

Just gauging interest if anyone has a kit that they need this drum for. I don't use the drum and don't want it laying around in storage if it can be used by someone.

PM me for price/photos/etc.

Used 14" Meinl Traditional M-Series Hi Hats - $160 plus shipping.

These are pretty cool... $340 new. These are nice and chunky, with a great, fat, chick and a nice, but short wash. Cool sound, somewhere between Meinl and Paiste. Pics coming!

Top hat: 1100 grams
Bottom Hat: 1425 grams

Thanks for looking!

Hey folks!

This is my first post here but an important one all the same!

It dawned on me the other day...I have a little savings and I've been playing the same drum kit since I was 14 (a kind, kind gift from my father!) and as you'd expect my taste have more than slightly changed now I'm 27. So I thought, maybe I'll buy a new drum kit.

I've always quite liked the idea of having an old set of Ludwig Maple Classics or Super Classics in Gold or Orange Sparkle from back in the 70's. But man are they hard to find! The new ones are alright but the generally produce them with wooden bass drum hoops. And although I'm aware you can have them built to custom specifications over in the US...I'd rather not spend that much money!

Ideally I'd like a 22" kick with a 12 or 13" tom and a 16" floor tom. Keystone or Blue/Olive Badge... I wouldn't be that fussy. I'm even open to the idea of different sizes. Actually, the difficulty I'm having finding a set...I'd welcome any suggestion!

Anyone got any ideas where to look for a set of these? Or is selling a set? Or knows of someone eselling? I'm watching eBay, Gumtree, etc but no joy. I'm based in Scotland.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Something like this: http://www.firemountaintours.com/ima...leClassic1.jpg

Need a single THIN 14" Zildjian New Beat hi hat or A Zildjian thin crash.

I have a set of 70's New Beats 1025g/1325g that work great for rock, but need a lighter and washy sound for low-volume acoustic gigs. I used to have a super light 14" New Beat that I'd swap out with the heavy, but I sold it.

Doesn't have to be in great condition, just playable.

Default DW 5000 Slave Pedal conversion and Ghost Pedal.

Local pick up only in NYC. UWS of Manhattan down the street from Smoke Jazz.

The real gem is the Ghost Pedal. Works great, I cleaned it up a bit. No Beater...great for 4 on the floor.

The DW 5000 is great pedal, although single post, I never had complaints with it.

Both are $50 each.

NYC Local pick up only. My number is through the craigslist ad. Good luck!

all cymbals are in like new condition, not even finger prints. the 24" 2002 crash has been played as a ride, so some stick marks. prices have very little leeway.

Selling my Ludwig Classic Maple kit. I ordered this kit new from Todd Trent about 6 years ago when he was still with Ludwig and owned Ontario Music. I'll have to dig the invoice out when I get home for an exact date. The kit is Red Glass Glitter which wasn't offered by Ludwig at the time, only Red Sparkle, but Todd made it happen for me. The build sheet shows "Customer Supplied Wrap", which I thought was cool. Drums are in excellent condition as are the Aquarian heads. You will not be disappointed. Sizes are 14x26, 10x13, 16x16, 16x18. The pictures show hardware but this price is for the shell pack only. I will be selling the hardware separately, let me know if you're interested. I also included a picture of my buddy Rich Redmond with the kit as he used it for his CRASH Course Clinic. Local pickup preferred. I'm located in Terre Haute, Indiana which is 70 miles west of Indianapolis. $1800.00. Please feel free to call me at 812-249-5707 with any questions. Thanks, Brian REDUCED TO $1500.00]
