beautiful set, I love the wrap on it, very classy! Nice setup too (cymbals seem a little high, but thats my opinion and i keep mine very low). Very clean for everything you've got there too

thanks for the kind words hawk. my cymbals aren't actually up really high if you were sitting behind the kit because my toms are actually pretty low. and i am a neat freak when it comes to keeping my stuff clean. when i was gigging, i would clean my stuff every two weeks...cymbals and all.
i'll probably post pics of my classic birch kit up tomorrow...gotta go let the dog out. thanks again. |

Great set, I like your bass drum art. I like the rug too.
I'm assuming you moved your kit out just to take pictures. Was this a lot of trouble? |

Awesome, totally awesome. Your finish is sweet, though im not too much of a fan of the flat toms. Idk, it just never seemed to appeal to me. But i do like the way you set up the 2 up 2 down... probably because its exactly how my set is. Dig the cymbals as well...How do you like the K/Z combo?

that is an old rug that i used to use when i was gigging out all the time. now i own one of those "crashpad" drumrugs which rolls up into a small nylon bag. it's alot easier than throwing that long peice of carpet in the back of the vehicle...LOL! no, it wasn't too much trouble moving my kit outside because the drum room is right next to the garage. i was so tempted to bang out a groove though but since i'm the new neighbor in town...i didn't want to make the natives angry (it's bad enough i'm sure they hear it coming from inside the house!) |

Beautiful! I especially like this riveted china!
Man, you were really lucky with that deal...lol er, but a question anyway: How do you find that Star cast snare stand? I can understand the reason for the tom usage...but does it really affect the snare sound? Is it more open? Nice kit, nice kit...with some very fine cymbals! Karl |

As some of you guys know I'm a Ludwig fan. And this is another fine example of why! very clean with a nice set-up. I'm not the biggest fan of wraps but this just has a great classic look and feel.

i really like the tama air ride (star cast) system. in my opinion, it definately opens up the snare sound alot, i can tell the difference. the only thing that's weird to get used to is that the drum "bounces" a little when you hit it. |

Totally love the kit. it looks so comfy and....clean. As well as the cymbals.
I play my rack tom really low and flat, it does look like TB's but that isn't the desired affect. i just accidently lowered the tom too much once and found it was better for me. I suppose everyone's just different. Tom

before i bought these ludwigs, i owned (no longer *tears*) a tama starclassic kit that had 9x10, 10x12, and 11x13" rack toms. i could never get them really low without them hitting the bass drum, so i would sit up higher which really bothered me. i sent the toms out to get cut down an inch or so, which i was happy with once i got them back. when i ordered this kit, i went with the conventional sizes on the toms. i love having my ride cymbal where it is...i don't think i will ever change that as far as in my setup. |

I would give anything for that Reso bass drum head.

beautiful -- i am new to the ludwig family myself. I like your cymbal placement -- i tend to try and get good seperation between my toms and cymbals. I tried the flat tom thing on my starclassic -- loved the look, but i found for me when i tilted them lightly toward me, i played better -- although they are still pretty flat.
