Default New Yammies!

Hi All,
I sold my Sonor Delites on the weekend.....got a great price for them.
My plan was to bank some cash, and go out and by a good mid-range kit for gigging.
Well, after a couple of hours in JUST DRUMS in Toronto, I finally gave up that idea, and bought a brand-new Yamaha Beech Custom Absolute Nouveau. The finish is like nothing I've seen before.
It's called Gold Sparkle Fade, and it is incredible! It goes from a medium gold to an almost burnt orange colour. The sparkle is like glass!
I got such a great deal, including the shell pack which is 8x10,9x12 racks, and a 14 and 16 hanging "floor toms". It's got a 22x16 kick, and also a 7x14 Maple Custom Nouveau snare.
He threw in the "double floor tom mount" and the tom mount and I got it for $2900 Cdn.
I thought my Delites were quality, but these Yamaha's are as good if not better in the "fit & finish" department.
Looks to be an equisite kit, and I'll try to get some pics up asap.
Cheers
Phil

I love Yamaha drums and hardware. Congrats on your kit. Yeah, I've seen that finish. Quite impressive.

Well, I suppose going from Sonor to Yamaha isn't so bad. Yamaha to Premier wouldn't be bad either after this. That finish sounds exquisite, congratulations on the new purchase. I've been missing your posts around these echelons Phil, good luck with the new kit.

Yeah, haven't had too much time for posting recently MFB, and I know you are a real Sonor Geek at heart...lol But, the Yamaha's are so sweet, and to be honest, sometimes you just feel like a change..The Delites were "deliteful" indeed, but part of my decision was that I wanted something a bit more "powerful" sounding with a bigger kick also. The Delites had a 20" kick that was amazing for it's size, but overall I feel the Delites are more "finess" sounding than the Yamaha's. Oh what the hell, I just wanted to try something new!...lol
I'll be borrowing a digital this week sometime and I'll get pics up asap.
Mind you, I did manage to find a pic of the finish on the web, but it really doesn't do it justice.
Nice to hear from you MFB
Cheers

er...er......man, I`m speechless about that. That sparkle looks absolutly beautiful! Though I have never seen it yet.

Buddy, please...please post pics of your kit as soon as possible, okay? =)
