Do you have to ask what kinda music he plays?

Nice drums! those things can sound alright when recorded properly.

LOL. well i play in a rock/funk/blues band and i have a double pedal and love alot of the harder stuff, so it influences me a bit. I believe the drummer of evanescence uses 2 bass drums, and thats not typical double bass music.

but i'm willing to put money down that its metal. haha.

Nice! How do you like the AAX 16in stage crash? I'm looking at buying one of those.

Lo'!

Thanks for the kind words guys!

wnameth: No I bought it all as one set, I actually got one more tom, a 13", but i removed it since I didn't use it and it was preventing me to place the ride where I wanted it. The music I play is a bit hard to place, its metal no doubt, but it's not all-the-way death metal or all-the-way thrash metal, if you go though this link youll be able to hear some, please give me some response too!

drummerchick435:
The AAX Stage Crashes are awesome, I usually don't go for that "thin" cymbals but it sounded great so I bought it. It wouldn't surprise me if it broke within 6 months though, since i hit them pretty hard.

13enson:
Haha yeah it eats away at your socks but I just cant play with shoes!

hanman: Yeah, but not the newest version of the joey-kit, since that one contains his signature snare aswell. I bought my kit a couple of years ago.

Thanks again everyone for the kind words and post some comments about my playing/our music!

Hello again,

I thought I'd post some info about our way of recording the drums for the demo; first we sampled each individual drum, about ten samples of each drum was made. After this we rigged the whole kit with mics (Shure SM57's on the toms/snare, a pair of russian mics over the drums for the cymbals and a pair of cheap kickdrum-mics)

We recorded the drums using the mics and after the recording we put the sampled sounds in a similar way to DFH over the recorded drumtracks and mixed them. The sound turned out pretty good considering it's not a top-of-the-line kit. Tell me what you think!
