Default Footage from a recent concert

Inspired by the "I suck" thread, here's a fifty-minute concert featuring me and the boys playing the following songs:

1. "Follow Me" by Pat Metheny
2. "Have you Heard" by the very same Pat Metheny
3. "Hungry Ghosts" by Pessi Levanto (Finnish composer/pianist)
4. "Across the Sky" by that good old Pat Metheny
5. "Last Train Home" by the irrepressible Pat Metheny
6. "Stranger in Town" by guess who... yep -- PAT METHENY, goddamnit!
7. "Tip the Dealer" by Groove Convention
8. A song posing as "Neurochasm" by the Ozric Tentacles

The songs were quite difficult because my lack of experience on the genre and the fact that I've played the drums for under four years. I was playing pretty much at the far edges of my abilities and my performance was far from perfect, but overall the gig went well, I had a lot of fun and boy did I learn a lot!

Without any further ado, here's the video. Sorry about the poor sound quality caused by the DV-camera's mic.

I have to say your playing is commendable for having played less than 4 years. You seemed pretty comfortable out there and showed restrain where needed which to me indicates maturity. You also seem to have a pretty good posture, technique and fluidity. The second and third songs seem to show your skill better than the first, IMO. That's as far as I got. Kudos!

I only saw part of it because my computer buffers slowly. But what I saw was very good. On the songs that I saw you had accents were you need them and good technique. You have good rythm and thats what many drummers that have been playing get wrong also so you are fine with that.

You sounded very good , especially if this isn't a style you normally play.Very mature sense of dynamics for 4 yrs of playing.I disagree that you are playing at your outer limits, it is plain that you are quite capable of playing these songs , just maybe a little bit more confidence is needed. Otherwise, nice performance.

Glad you liked it! I had to woodshed with the brushes quite a bit to get that groove going... Five minutes of steady 16th notes at around 150-160bpm is not an easy task.
