I have the GKs.
They are very impressive. For >$200, they should be. ; ) SRJ |

You get what you pay for. Ultraphones are the best.

If they are the same, and they appear to be, I have a pair. The isolate pretty well, and are very loud. I wear ER-20 earplugs underneath them, and crank them up, so I can hear pretty much only the speakers. Unfortunately, they are nowhere near hi-fi, with lots of high-end attenuation. Inadequate for, say placing mics, fine for tracking or practicing to a CD.

While the Ultraphones' isolation is excellent, they really shine in the fidelity department.
The elements are from the Sony 7506, which also happen to be my favorite regular phones. But whether or not you like the Sony's, they're the best drivers available in an iso headset, and that's what sets the Ultraphones above everything else. Bermuda |

As i read some previous thread, Ultraphones looks like a very serious and interesting device, a bit pricey though, but if it worth the money you pay for....I think i will order them :) Thanks

I received a pair of Direct Sound Extreme Isolation EX-29 Headphone yesterday and they're amazing. I paid 135$ CAN for the phones and a hard case.

I picked up a pair of the EI phones as backups to my Ultraphones, and they're good.
But the Ultraphones have better sound and comfort. You get what you pay for. Bermuda |

Hm, if I can buy 7506's for $100, and shooting muffs for $40, and I already have a hot glue gun...
