That snare is made by Kumu, a Finnish custom drum builder. See http://www.kumu.fi/english/index_english.html for more info. The hoops are lacquered because I ordered them that way.

I just ordered a 20" x 17" kick, a 14" x 12" floor tom and a 10" x 8" tom tom with similar color and wood hoops, but with a matte finish. It's going to take three months before the kit's finished, and I'm all jittery and excited already. :)

I think I just messed myself. That snare looks amazing. Althooooough, I wonder if it would look better with natural hoops. But damn, dude. Wow. How much did that thing run you?

i love how the hoops are finished, i never really like the whole stained drum natural hoops thing
