Default paiste dark crisp hats

i searched and found some stuff on these hats but not exactly what i was looking for. i currently own 14" zildjian mastersounds and i'm getting a little tired of them, they don't have that beauty that i'm looking for and i've been liking the dark crisps for awhile now. does anyone have them or have experience with them? i'm not really worried about the price because i get everything over half off at guitar center but i just haven't gotten a chance to get up there and try them out.

I have a set. They are nice. Im currently working on rebuilding myself a set of Paiste Signatures. I sold mine just over two years ago for financial reasons. I am currently using K Customs, but ........ I love Paiste.

I finally picked up a pair of 13s a couple of weeks ago. I really like these hihats - they are really versatile, but not boring or generic sounding at all. They're a real classic hat, that's been in the Sig line since the beginning.

They really impressed me...certainly more than other hats (like for .e.g light hats of signature line)

I recorded with them and loved them. If they were a little louder I would have bought a pair

are they that quiet? i know freese uses them in APC and benante uses them with anthrax so i figured they'd work with anything.

I used to have a pair on my old Tamas. They are my all-time favorite hats. Nothing can match their articulation.
I switched to 15" zildjians for more volume, but they don't have the character of the Paistes.
The sig sound edge are verrry nice, too, and have the volume.

I wouldn't say quiet. Its just I couldn't take the risk of them totally getting lost on a unmiced kit at a gig you know? I saw the guy from Anthrax uses them too and that almost made me buy them but I figure hes got some amazing drum mics and stuff. He also has loud 15" sound edges too. Im sure they are perfect for jazz and funk but when your competing with huge amps and 2 guitars I had to go for something louder (even if the Dark Crisps are my fav sounding hats). Saying that I will own them at some point.
