I just got a sparkling new janus ergo double pedal yesterday. No doubt its heavy duty but it is squeaking a bit. Is that supposed to happen with a new pedal or is it a defective piece. How do i rectify the problem? Everything else is working fine. bbd |

Have you tried anything stop the squeaking? What part is making the noise? WD-40 will quickly stop it but some light grease will do the trick.

Try putting some sewing machine oil on the moveable areas.

I'm not familiar with the Janus pedal, but my Pacific double pedal squeaks terribly. I've oiled it, greased it, etc and I can never get the squeaking to stop for more than a day or two.
I hope you can get yours taken care of. So far, the white lithium motorcycle chain lube has lasted longest for me. |

Play louder!
but seriously, give it some time, and perhaps a lubricant |

A little bit of valve oil will work. You can find it at any band intsrument store, and at two bucks a bottle, it'll last a long time.

This has happened to my janus, just disassemble it, oil every moving parts (i used a wd lubricant of some sort) and there wont be any more squeaking.
I guess it depend son how much use you put on your pedals, after a lot of double thrashing the janus tends to disassemble itself slightly, but if you tighetn eveyritng up to the maximum, it won't happen.
