in all practicality, and from what i've seen written out, play the hihat on the "and uh's", the snare on beats 2 and 4, the bass drum on 1 and the "and of 3." sometimes he places a bass drum on the "and of 4."

Cool transcriptions, and I like your playing too.
I dunno if this is rude or whatever, but i would love if you could transcribe the drum intro to Dave Weckl's version of the chicken. here's the link

Hello! Found a pretty cool gospeldrummer on Tube and thought i would transcribe one of the grooves he's doing. So here's the video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVEAuNAAqos

fron 0:24 he's going something like this:
Code:

LS: 1-----2-----3-----4-----1
BD: R-R-RR-R---R--RR-------RR
SN: -l-l--L--Ll-ll--l-L-l-ll-
HH: R-O-rr-O---O-rrO^^R--R---
where LS = count, BD = bassdrum, SN = snare, HH = hihat. small letters act as ghost notes and capitals are accents. Here's a midi I made.

No fancy licks, or quadruple paradiddle-diddles played over a multiple layered foot ostinato here, "just" good straightforvard beats and fills for everyday use, played really well. http://www.alexreeves.co.uk/

Great job, Thanks!

Can you transcribe some of Pat Petrillo's Solo from "Hands, Grooves, & Fills"? It's pretty insane.

http://www.drummerworld.com/Videos/p...oopensolo.html

That would be great

Well, it's quite a long solo.... The great Terry B. did an incredible job, and transcribed Pat Man's solo from the "E.Z:" It's not the same solo, but the same drummer, and the same vocabulary.
