Default Gong

I sold some S Class toms and a Phonic Bass drum, had this left over for this purpose. Red Maple S Class 20" bass drum. Set it up on a cradle as a Gong Drum on the 3003 SE kit.

Way cool.

I'm going to add this to my index of hardware mods at http://www.drummerworld.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=23501 if you don't mind. This is a neat way to re-use a stand for a different drum.

It's sort of like Krupa's 20" Floor tom as it's not really a gong drum. Just a big fun thing to have I suppose.

Gotta love a gong drum. I really enjoy the 2 that I have. Before I got my 2 current kits I had been wanting one forever when I saw Simon Phillips and Tim Alexander use them.

The Pork Pie gong is a 18x16 shell with a 20in head , the DW is a 21x16 with a 22in head.

Great idea using the Djembe stand!!
