Rogers, are you sure? Rogers has been out of business for quite some time. At least as far as I know.

Don't take my word for it, but I was under the impression that Yamaha bought the rights for the old deceased Rogers company, and are going to re-enter Rogers drums into the market.

Rogers was being made by Brook Mays until their liquidation, the quality of the kits wasn't bad though, with new heads and better cymbals and pedal it sounds nice, i know that cause i have one in a black finish, the drums have the tom mount that the metal goes into the drum through a hole in the shell, but they are still resonant, some O-rings help though. Wikipedia said the kits were "beginner to advanced" i think its beginner to intermediate, i love mine though, i just wish I could've ordered different sizes or extra drums but there were 5 drums they made with the badge, a 9x12 tom, a 10x13 tom, a 16x16 floor tom, a 6x14 snare and a 16x22 bass, the sizes work though, the hardware could be better, but isn't completely sucky, the shells themselves are nice for the price we got it at, about 300.00 and the only hardware i have to replace is the pedal, the hats and crash/ ride weren't the best either, but since when does a kit come with nice cymbals, even planet z's are better, but they did have brass cymbals made by paiste you could order with the rogers name, they were a 16" crash, 20"ride and 14" hats, but i didn't cause i couldn't afford them, i think they were probably rebadged 101s or something. Ive seen beginer kits that were more expensize than mine and they had worse shells, i know my drums were import but they are nice quality. Thats all I have on the subject. Oh, and they were on the market, just in brook mays stores and the internet though.

I've heard this as well. It's possible that Yamaha will put these out as a beginners line, but it seems more likely that they're try to replicate the good old Rogers look and appeal to the vintage crowd. Probably with limited runs of this and that.
Of course, they'll sound nothing like a vintage Rogers kit... |

i guess i'm wrong since you all seem to know quite a bit on this topic, but i had heard that yamaha bought the rights to rogers for some of their patents and were planning another new kit with those patents incorporated, and based off the absolute maple series.
