Gorgeous kit bro, Love the green fade.

What model mapex is it and what type of heads do you use?

I'll answer for him since there's only one mapex model with this finish, it's the Mapex M birch black forest green in the studio configuration setup.

Hey Joshua, I think you have made a mistake on your floor tom specs, you said mounted 16x16 but I think it's a mounted 16x13...

HERE JOSHUA MAPEX KIT

you are right on the config. Thanks for bringing the error to my attention. The webmaster should have that cleaned up today. This is just a standard kit and I have to say I love it! Properly tuned the kit souds alot like a pearl masters I had about 10 years ago...I know the Pearl purists are cringing right now but it is the truth. The birch shells have a great tone. This kit is not overly loud so for performance it is not my first choice but in the studio it is so easy to control...what a pleasure to play.

Oh ya the heads... I have Remo Ebony PS on it right now. I am learning to love them but my current project called for a darker tone than I could get with my single ply evans.

My bad I forgot to say that you have an awesome kit I dig the setup. Look comfy to play.

That finish IMO is the most beautiful finish in any mapex series and I'd have a Mapex I think I rush them to custom finish the Saturn I'd get in the black forest green color.

Definitely one of my favourite bursts yet, nice kit. I have ebony PS heads too, and find that they give a really fat tone, but you can tune them to more medium tones too. Good luck with that new project.

I have a PDP mx with a finish close to this one. When I got it I could have gotten this same setup for the same price. Instead I went with the PDP. I would have gotten one more drum for free. I like my kit. I would like to add this one though.

Nice kit man. I love that color of green

The hats in the pic were replaced with 13 inch Cust A Master Sound as they were on back order at the time of the pic. Had to borrow the zbt's from my 7 year old's Mapex QR set for the pics.

Finish is great, love the cymbals you got. I was going to ask about the ZXT hats but thank god you got some mastersounds. I have them and boy do I love 'em.

hah! I didn't get into music until I was 13. My kids are growing up in a world full of it. My oldest son who will be 3 soon really enjoys playing (attempting) the drums. He's latest feat is learning the difference between all the different cymbals (their names and sounds). My youngest (almost a year) still can't get over the fact that he can fit inside the bass drum.

Strangly enough when I got this kit I was suprised as to how quiet it is. The tone of the drums if outstanding especially with Remo ebony skins. It is a PERFECT studio kit for me because of it's lower volume but as far as performance is concerned I would have to go with a set of Saturns or Orions. There just isn't as much projection with the M-birch. This is just what my ears are telling me...naturally some will disagree.
